About Us

Reformation Church of Elizabeth is a church committed to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. We preach the Bible every Lord’s Day proclaiming Christ. Jesus Christ lived and died and rose again from the dead somewhere around 33 A.D. He is the Son of God who took on human nature. For a full description of our statement of faith, you may refer to the Confession of Faith & Catechisms of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (Westminster Standards). We take Him as the ultimate prophet who spoke the truth. We take Him as the ultimate priest, who sacrificed Himself for our sins on the cross. And, we take Him as our Lord and King, and that means He has the right to tell us what to do.

Reformation Church of Elizabeth is a congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Since the latter part of the 19th century, liberalism and humanistic thought has virtually routed the modern Christian church. In the midst of this great decline, which has affected the teaching practice of a great deal of Christianity, the Orthodox Presbyterian Church was formed in 1936 out of a desire to revive a passion and respect for the authority of God’s Word against the modernist compromise that had crept into the church. At a time of great social and religious decline, it is time to return to the old paths and stand first and foremost on the Word of God.
